I was fortunate to have befriended Barb Spohr when we were in the same class as first year students at the Alberta College of Art (now AU Arts). She possessed a skilled eye that naturally led her to experiment with photography.
Barb was a gifted artist who tragically passed away in 1987 after a life-long battle with Hodgkin’s disease. She was 32.
Many of her works reside in The Banff Centre Collection and it’s always a treat to wander the halls of the Centre to see her photographs.
